Google has officially launched a free self-service energy efficiency evaluation tool - Energy Assessment Tool (EAT). The tool aims to remove barriers to improving energy efficiency, identify potential energy-saving opportunities, accelerate progress toward emissions-reduction goals, and reduce costs.
The tool can provide customized project recommendations by helping users analyze more than 20 potential energy-saving opportunities across key energy systems (such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, and lighting). Users only need to input basic data about their facilities. Even without professional expertise in energy management, they can independently conduct an initial energy assessment. By comparing energy-saving benefits with return on investment (ROI), the tool helps identify projects with the greatest cost-saving and carbon-reduction potential.
The tool is designed for team collaboration, allowing colleagues to complete the assessment together. It can also invite upstream suppliers to participate, extending the positive impact across the entire value chain.
The tool is funded by Google and designed, developed, and operated by Together Creative. The calculation methodology and input data framework were jointly developed by leading consulting firms - Jacobs and Anew Global Consulting.
